Cross-posting...
I just tried cross-posting an embedded YouTube video to LiveJournal from here and it totally wonked it out. Is there a better way to do this? Should I upload the video to my Vox library first? Will it know that LiveJournal requires specific tags to display embedded content? What about all the extra whitespace that it added to the post?
I've been using LJ for years and wanted the transition from there to here to be smooth... by cross-posting for a while... but if it doesn't work as well as I was hoping that might not be an option. Can anyone help?

I cross-posted an embedded video, not a video from my library, and I think this was the cause of my problem. The wonked-out display didn't include the actual YouTube video, since it didn't have <lj-embed> tags around it, I think. I assume that when you cross-post a video from your library that it does? I deleted the entry but if it happens again I'll keep it around and let you know what it looks like.
Also, yeah, there seemed to be about 10 lines of whitespace above the entry, and 30 or so lines of whitespace below the entry. We have the same problem when cross-posting from 43things.com when we're not sure if the resulting blog expects html or plain text that's parsed into html. No biggie though.
